Floor removal and prep in Sacramento
A good floor starts with what is underneath it. LR Flooring removes your old flooring, hauls it away, and prepares the surface so the new floor lies flat and lasts. It is part of every installation we quote, with no surprises.
We handle old carpet, hardwood, vinyl, and laminate, and we protect the rest of your home while we work. See the full [flooring installation](/flooring-installation) process.
What the prep covers
Your specialist explains the scope up front at the in-home estimate.
- Moving furniture out of the work area
- Removal of the old flooring and padding
- Hauling away and disposal of old material
- Checking the surface for damage and moisture concerns
- Smoothing the base so the new floor installs properly
- A final clean-up before the new floor goes in
Special Financing Available*
*Subject to credit approval. Minimum monthly payments required. See design consultant for details.
Learn moreWhy a flat base matters
Floating floors like [laminate](/laminate-flooring) and [luxury vinyl plank](/luxury-vinyl-plank) show every low or high spot. Time spent on prep keeps seams tight and the floor quiet. It is the least glamorous part of a project and one of the most important.
Older homes and surprises
Homes in older parts of Sacramento can hide surprises under flooring. If we find something unexpected, we stop, show you, and explain your options before continuing. Nothing proceeds without your say-so.
